The CBDC Studio

Central banks across the globe are actively exploring the use of Digital currencies to help solve long-standing challenges plaguing the financial systems. As a virtually costless medium of exchange, digital currencies can significantly enhance payment efficiency, foster monetary policy innovation, and drive greater financial inclusion. CBDC Studio offers an integrated platform to help Central Banks and Financial Institutions holistically design, issue, distribute, and manage digital currencies. The platform is based on the Blockchain Worx Two-Tier CBDC Framework that is designed to empower public-private partnerships and enables digital cash to be designed by central banks but issued and distributed by financial institutions.

The Technology Stack

The CBDC Studio operates on a Gen-3 Blockchain network, providing a secure, robust, scalable infrastructure with inherent privacy features, optimally designed for CBDCs. Programmable smart contracts seamlessly enable automation and facilitate settlements while a well-orchestrated set of distributed nodes provide a highly available network for all users. The platform currently utilized a private instance of the Hedera Stablecoin Studio and mirror nodes with Zero Trust security and use MPC/Ledger wallets for enhanced protection. Multiple oracle services validate and deliver the Proof-of-Reserve. The system largely follow the Monetary Authority of Singapore’s Project Ubin framework, building upon and extending the work done across five inter-related components - ledger interoperability service, gateway communication service, blockchain ledger, user connectivity interfaces, & digital currency.
